With growing support from the community, a social media campaign to promote positive cryptocurrency regulation has been successful for 100 days. Despite ongoing banking restrictions imposed by India’s central bank and reports of increased volume and optimism about the future regulation, local crypto exchanges report higher volumes.

Positive Crypto Regulation Campaign

Friday marks the 100th day for a Twitter campaign to promote positive cryptocurrency regulation in India. Nischal Shetty is the CEO of Wazirx crypto exchange. He began his campaign last October 31st, coincident with Satoshi’s 10th anniversary. He tweets every day to legislators, urging them to adopt positive regulation for India with the hashtag “Indiawantscrypto”.

He then shared his campaign statistics with the CEO. He stated that the 99 daily tweets have generated 1.48million impressions and 57,374 interactions from users, including replies, retweets and likes.

Shetty stated that India’s ban on banks in India was an important reason to adopt crypto. He also explained that educating the government as well as the masses was a key step. This campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage government officials to take the correct steps towards crypto.

The message he sent in a series of tweets was: “Please bring positive regulation to crypto. Over 5 million crypto Indians would be grateful to you.” The youth of India have discovered a new way of making wealth, especially when there is not enough work for everyone.” He tags the accounts for Arun Jaitley, the Minister of Finance, and Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of India.
