Hartmann’s Featured in Menu Magazine!

The team at Hartmann’s Old World Sausage is happy to announce that we are being featured in the summer 2009 edition of Wegmans Menu Magazine.

This season’s edition of the Rochester based magazine celebrates American food classics and focuses on the great flavors that can be found close to home.

Hartmann’s to Retire Downtown Rochester Location

The team here at Hartmann’s Old World Sausage has made the difficult decision to retire our downtown Rochester retail location.

The store will close as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22.

We do plan to open a new retail location in our Canandaigua, N.Y. facility and will make sure to keep all of our valued customers updated to our progress.

We apologize for any inconvenience that our short retail absence may cause, however we’re thrilled that we’re able to offer such a wide variety of our products to you through our website. For more information on any of our products or to make a purchase, simply visit the Our Products section of this site.

For those lucky enough to live near a Wegmans store please know that most of their locations carry a great selection of our products. Contact your local Wegmans Deli Manager for more information on their offerings. For those customers who don’t currently have retail access to our products and would like to, feel free to contact us with suggestions on appropriate retailers in your area and we’ll do our best to make your favorite Hartmann’s meats easily available to you.

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage to Relocate

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage is happy to announce their relocation to Canandaigua, N.Y. Hartmann’s new center of operations is located at 2640 Brickyard Road and will contain the company’s offices and production facilities.

The transition will be taking place throughout the week of April 13 and production will begin in the new facility the week of April 20. At over 21,000 square feet the Brickyard Road site is over seven times larger than Hartmann’s previous downtown Rochester location, and will more than double their production capabilities.

“This is such an exciting time for our company,” said Josef Brunner, president, Hartmann’s Old World Sausage. “The possibilities for growth are endless and we’re thrilled to grow in Ontario County, an area so well known for their rich wine and food culture.”

While Hartmann’s will be based out of Canandaigua, their retail store will remain open at its current 1256 North Clinton Ave. location.

Our dedication to our customers has spurred us to develop new shipping and packaging procedures; resulting in a reduction of our overhead costs. These new procedures have allowed us to reduce both shipping and product prices by several dollars, without making any changes to the products themselves!

Holiday Hams Now Available For Order

We are proud to announce that our Holiday Hams are now available online. For more information on these whole, bone-in hams, please visit the “Holiday Ham” section of this website. We will be accepting orders both online and over the phone through December 9th and will have hams available for shipping or pickup beginning December 20th.

Hartmann’s to Extend Hours through the Holiday Season

We understand that this is an extremely busy time of year. With that in mind, we have decided to extend our retail hours throughout the holiday season. Beginning November 22, our retail store will be open on Saturdays! We hope that these extended hours will make your lives just a little bit easier. For a full listing of our holiday hours, please see below and of course, happy holidays.

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage Voted Best Specialty Food

Rochester, N.Y. (May 19, 2008)

The gourmet meats produced by Hartmann’s Old World Sausage have been named the best in specialty food. This award was presented to the Hartmann’s team by attendees of “Slice, Dice & Spice New York” (SDS). The SDS event was a four day affair created as a tourism initiative to showcase the culinary and agricultural talents of the Finger Lakes region.

The SDS finals, held on Thursday, May 15, at the New York State Wine and Culinary Center, attracted over 200 guests, who were invited to sample products from numerous food vendors. At the end of the evening guests were invited to vote for their favorite vendors in categories such as best taste, best sip, best specialty food, best display, and best hospitality.

“We’re honored to have won the award for best specialty food,” said Josef Brunner, Master Sausage Maker at Hartmann’s. “Our products are always made with our customers in mind. An award like this one, which comes directly from them, is particularly special.”

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage was one of over 25 participating vendors and provided attendees with numerous samples including Swiss Bratwurst, Finger Lakes Wine Sausage, Chicken Supremo Sausage, Cajun Andouille Sausage, Schinken Speck, Landjäger, and the Black Peppercorn & Red Wine Salami.

Hartmann’s Rolls Out New Deli Menu

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage has created a new deli menu, with an old world taste. Their Rochester, N.Y. deli is now offering hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, and an assortment of homemade soups and salads. A combination of American classics and traditional German fare will be offered, including hard-to-find dishes like a Schnitzel sandwich or the Bockwurst Reuben.

In addition to the regular menu, homemade specials are offered daily and pot pies are always available. Because the pies are served hot and fresh, please give about one hour advance notice so that they may accommodate your request. Customers are welcome to dine in or take out, and delivery service will be available for large local orders.

Hartmann’s Hires Michael F. Bucher

Hartmann’s Old World Sausage is proud to announce the addition of Michael F. Bucher to their team. Bucher serves as the Deli Manager and is responsible for day-to-day operations including all deli business, all menu changes, and the creation of all daily specials.

Prior to joining Hartmann’s Old World Sausage Bucher owned and operated several local restaurants and has over 32 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He currently resides in Farmington.
